VANESSA Kirby has shut down Tom Cruise dating rumours after she was pictured kissing him on the set of Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

The 31-year-old, who is famed for playing Princess Margaret in Netflix’s The Crown,  was linked to the 56-year-old during filming last year – but the star has now rubbished the claims.

Speaking to Marie Claire, she said: “Even though the [film] crew were there, it was all like, ‘The next wife falls at his feet’.

“The most disconcerting thing was the people I didn’t think would believe it, did, and they were texting my boyfriend, asking, ‘Are you OK?’

“I don’t think they believe anything they read now because you just can’t. None of it is real. To be getting married to him? Not even a snog, it was marriage.”

The actress, who is dating Callum Turner, likes to keep her relationship private, which she thinks has helped her deal with fame.

Discussing becoming a household name, she said: “It is a weird feeling. I definitely don’t feel it yet. I’ve been lucky because I barely get recognized, and I keep my relationship super private.

“[My boyfriend Callum Turner's] just completely wonderful and he’s my best friend, so that’s… I guess you can either choose to talk about it or not. If you talk about it, it becomes interesting to people, but if you don’t, then it’s not.”

Last year it was claimed that Tom had fallen for the actress and was keen to cast her after seeing her in the Netflix show.

A source told InTouch Weekly at the time: "He wants to make her the next Mrs Tom Cruise.

"They had instant chemistry, and of course she got the role."

Tom's Mission Impossible character Ethan Hunt has always been one for the ladies and pictures from filming showed the characters getting on very well indeed.
