This holiday season, you can make the difference to a Quad City child!

Local 4 Toys for Tots Toy Drive brings holiday joy

Join us for the Local 4 Toys for Tots Toy Drive, Wednesday, November 15 from 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. The Local 4 staff and the Marine Corps Reserve will be collecting your donations at Blain’s Farm and Fleet in Moline, located at 5900 John Deere Road. The purpose of the drive is to collect and distribute new unwrapped toys as Christmas gifts to children less fortunate in our local community.

Help the Marines provide gifts to area children by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy or monetary donation. The Marines say the toughest age group is boys and girls 10-12 years old. Help brighten the season for the children in our area by taking part in the Local 4 Toys for Tots Toy Drive at Blains Farm and Fleet.

What kind of toys can I donate?

Toys for Tots Donation Ideas:

Getting a child’s expert advice about recommended toys for Toys for Tots can be useful, but it’s certainly not necessary. When in doubt, pick something from one of the classic categories of toys. Sporting equipment (like a basketball, soccer ball or football), board games, dolls, cars and trains, books and art supplies are all good choices. You can’t go wrong by donating a simple stuffed animal or a LEGO set.

Gifts that encourage creative pretend play, like clothes for playing dress-up or a restaurant play set, are also perennially popular with young kids. Channel your inner child and wander the toy section until you see something that you would have loved as a kid.

Keep in mind that many local Toys for Tots collection drives serve preteens and teens as well as younger kids. For these kids, recommended toys for Toys for Tots include sports equipment, art supplies, backpacks or purses, age-appropriate board games or handheld games, perfume and makeup or other beauty supplies/accessories.
